NORCROSS — Greater Atlanta Christian defeated Hart County 25-17, 25-17, 25-23 Tuesday, advancing to the Final Four of the Class AAA state volleyball playoffs.

The Region 5-AAA champion Spartans will face 7-AAA champion Cherokee Bluff in Saturday’s semifinals at Perry High School.

GAC was led by Gracie Rose (15 kills, 12 digs), Naya Ohuabunwa (10 kills), Kennedy Seymour (eight kills), Maddie Burrough (34 assists) and Lily Owenby (nine digs).


North’s season ends in quarterfinals

SUWANEE — North Gwinnett’s season ended with a five-set loss to Cherokee in Tuesday’s Class AAAAAAA quarterfinals.

Cherokee posted a 23-25, 25-18, 25-20, 22-25, 15-10 win to reach the Final Four. North was the only Gwinnett AAAAAAA team to make the quarterfinals.

The Bulldogs were led by Joya Screen (27 kills, 19 digs, one ace, two blocks), Kendal Crumpler (six kills, 14 digs, one block), Gabby DeRosa (six kills, five blocks, two digs), Katherine Mollette (24 digs, five assists, one ace) and Daniela Domkam (32 assists, two kills, 16 digs, one ace).
