Marci Mitchell Whiteside, a 1999 Shiloh graduate, will be inducted April 13 into the Carson-Newman University (Tenn.) Hall of Fame.

The former softball standout was inducted previously into the South Atlantic Conference Hall of Fame. She was the conference player of the year her final two college seasons, and earned All-SAC first-team honors all four years. She is one of two athletes in SAC history to be named the league’s female athlete of the year and scholar-athlete of the year in the same season, winning both in 2003.

Whiteside’s 41 career shutouts are the most in school history and second all-time in the conference, and her 18 career no-hitters is second all-time in NCAA Division II. She also graduated with a 4.0 GPA and a degree in mathematics.
