ATLANTA — Tayler Hill scored 17 points to help the visiting Washington Mystics upset the Atlanta Dream 86-79 on Sunday afternoon at Philips Arena.

Emma Meesseman had 15 points and seven rebounds for Washington (3-6). Ivory Latta scored 12 points. Tianna Hawkins and Ally Malott added 10 points apiece.

Angel McCoughtry scored 28 points for Atlanta (6-2). Elizabeth Williams had 21 points. Sancho Lyttle had eight points and 11 rebounds.

Atlanta outscored Washington 9-0 over the first 2:15. The Mystics battled back to cut the deficit to one. The Dream led 22-19 at the end of the first period.

Washington went up 23-22 early in the second. The Mystics later extended their lead to 32-26, but they were clinging to a 44-43 advantage at the break after McCoughtry made a long 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Washington stretched its lead to nine early in the second half. Atlanta got within five late in the third quarter but trailed 67-59 entering the fourth.

The Dream drew within five early in the fourth, but a 9-1 run helped the Mystics go up by 14. Atlanta charged back once more to cut Washington's lead to single digits, but the Mystics held on to win.
