North Gwinnett grad Nicole DiMercurio, now a professional runner, has signed with Elite Runner Management, a Michigan-based sports agency.

DiMercurio, a former All-Southeastern Conference runner at the University of Georgia, competes for On ZAP Endurance.

“Nicole DiMercurio is a gifted runner who is committed to the process of fulfilling her potential and achieving great things as a professional,” said Chris Mengel, who heads up Elite Runner Management. “Finishing sixth in last year’s Boston Marathon in horrific weather conditions in only her third marathon was pretty remarkable. Her grit and resolve to compete against the best athletes in the world are unquestioned. ERM is excited at the prospect of representing Nicole as her career moves forward.”

DiMercurio, 28, already has qualified for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials in the marathon — Atlanta hosts that event in February. She earned the spot by running the USA Track and Field A Standard at the 2017 U.S. Marathon Championships, where she finished 11th in a personal-best time of 2 hours, 36 minutes, 1 second.

Her top finishes also include the 2018 championship at the Anthem Shamrock Half Marathon in Virginia Tech, the 2017 title at the Dallas Half Marathon and a runner-up finish in the 2015 Peachtree Road Race.

When she isn’t running, DiMercurio runs an Etsy business called “Sincerely By Nicole” along with her blog. Both are accessible at
