Jake Magahey

Georgia junior Jake Magahey's seventh career trip to the NCAA podium highlighted the University of Georgia men's swimming and diving team's second day of competition at the 2023 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.

Magahey, a Mill Creek grad, placed third in the 500 freestyle with a season-best time of 4:09.24, earning First Team All-America honors and his third-consecutive top-three finish in the event. The Dacula native stood in seventh place through the first 300 yards before surging down the stretch, finishing the final 100 yards in 49.13. Magahey's time was the fifth-fastest of his collegiate career and eighth-fastest in program history.
