Georgia Gwinnett College softball players Taylor Hansis and Piper Wagner continue to reap postseason honors, with both being named to the second All-America team by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Hansis, a senior pitcher, won a single-season school record 28 games and recorded 201 strikeouts in 2019. The Longs, S.C., native earned the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Pitcher of the Year award for the third consecutive season. She holds the program’s career record for wins (77) and strikeouts (583).
Wagner, a sophomore utility player, was a dual threat at the plate and on the mound for the Grizzlies. The Marietta native had a .362 batting average with 12 doubles and five home runs. She also posted a 10-2 record, with six shutouts, in the pitching circle.
