Buford grad Lexi Overstreet, a senior at Tennessee, was selected last week in the National Pro Fastpitch Draft.

Overstreet went in the third round, No. 19 overall, to the Scrap Yard Dawgs, who are based out of Woodlands, Texas, near Houston.

Overstreet has 26 home runs, 117 RBIs and a career batting average of .311 at Tennessee, where she is completing her senior season. She has a .356 average with nine homers and 45 RBIs this year.

As a high-schooler, Overstreet helped Buford to four straight state championships from 2008-2011. She played travel softball for the East Cobb Bullets 18 Gold during high school, winning an ASA national championship.
