Rebecca Carlisle, North Gwinnett High School

Carlisle teaches advanced placement world history to 10th-grade students at North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee.

She is designing a New Teacher Program at North Gwinnett and is part of the CHARGENorth program, which introduces world history concepts with a STEM focus in a blended humanities class environment.

“Statistics say the success and retention of a new teacher greatly depends on the support they receive and it is my deep passion to ensure that new teachers receive the best support possible," Carlisle said. "Supported, new teachers lead directly to increased student achievement.”

Carlisle has spent 10 years in the school district since teaching social studies at Pinckneyville Middle School in 2010.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in history from the University of West Georgia, completed her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Georgia Southern University and is pursuing a teacher leadership specialist’s degree from Georgia College and State University.
