LETTERS: Donn Peevy fondly remembered by legal community.

Donn Peevy

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to offer condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime attorney and former state Sen. Donn M. Peevy of Lawrenceville on his recent passing.

During his distinguished career of more than 35 years in the legal profession, Sen. Peevy served as a prosecutor for the Gwinnett County State Court and later in private practice. He was elected to the Georgia Senate and represented his Gwinnett County district for 10 years, including service as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Prior to his legal career, he was a Gwinnett County Police officer, a member of the Georgia National Guard and legislative assistant to U.S. Rep. Ed Jenkins.

Donn Peevy will be missed and fondly remembered by his fellow members of the legal community. We appreciate the many contributions he made during his admirable career as a Georgia lawyer through his devoted service to the public and the justice system.

Sincerely,

Kenneth B. Hodges III
