Gwinnett County residents who want to make their opinions on the future of transportation in the county known to officials in person will get their first opportunity this week.

The Gwinnett County Department of Transportation will host its first of six public input meetings for its Comprehensive Transportation Plan update from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Bogan Park Community Recreation Center, 2723 Bogan Road, in Buford.

The county is working on a major update that will guide transportation planning through 2040 and gathering community input is a key part of that process so officials will know what residents want.

The county will hold one more public input meeting this week. That session will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, at the Shorty Howell Activity Building, 2750 Pleasant Hill Road, in Duluth.
