Norcross officials will hold the city’s first-ever housing fair this weekend to help residents get access to home ownership, rental and home improvement resources.
The Norcross Housing Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Summerour Middle School, which is located at 321 Price Place in Norcross. It is being organized through the city’s LiveNorcross: A Home to Imagine initiative.
“As housing prices soar, many longtime residents are increasingly unable to afford renting or owning homes within the city limits,” organizers said in an event announcement. “As a result, Norcross is experiencing a lot of transiency. Many residents have moved into our city only in the last five years, and many others are moving out as they are priced out of the market.
“In its efforts to create and sustain a welcoming environment for families of all incomes, the city of Norcross has launched the LiveNorcross initiative to address this challenge.”
The organizations, businesses, schools and agencies participating in the expo include Gwinnett Housing Corporation, City of Norcross Code Enforcement, Latin American Association, Brand Mortgage, Catholic Charities Atlanta, Project Community Connection, Gwinnett County Community Development, Clearpoint, Metro Fair Housing, Gwinnett Technical College WOIA, Renasant Bank, Gwinnett Habitat for Humanity, associate broker Tywana Speller and Mi Hogar Hispano.
