A shipment of wax Disney figurines sent from Mexico to a location in Gwinnett County were not just for display, Drug Enforcement Administration agents recently found.

According to Atlanta field office DEA Atlanta Special Agent in Charge Robert Murphy, approximately 500 Donald Duck, Pluto, Winnie the Pooh and other figurines that were recently intercepted by agents were found to have about $2 million worth of crystal methamphetamine hidden inside them.

Each pound, Murphy said, was destined for the streets of Atlanta.

“This is a family-based theme, a Disney theme, but there’s nothing good about what this would do to any family if this hit the street,” he said.

Officials said another shipment contained legitimate ceramic figurines, which Murphy said were likely a decoy for the meth-laden figures.

It was not immediately clear whether any arrests had been made in connection with the bust. As of Wednesday evening, the DEA had not released any additional information
