Gwinnett County firefighters worked a large fire in a pile of crushed cars near Buford on Wednesday.
The blaze was reported shortly after noon at Honda Parts Connection on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard near Gold Creek Trail, according to the fire department.
“The fire is contained to the pile of cars and smoke is readily dissipating into the atmosphere,” Capt. Tommy Rutledge said in a news release. “There is no immediate threat to the surrounding community, per the incident commander.”
Firefighters applied foam and water from hoses and a ladder. A front-end loader was also used by the business to pull apart the pile for firefighters to put out the fire.
“The exact cause of the fire is undetermined,” Rutledge said.
