Gwinnett County Police Department officers responded to the T-Mobile on Grayson Highway in unincorporated Lawrenceville at about 3:45 a.m. on Nov. 23 after the store’s glass break alarm sounded, a police report said.
After reviewing surveillance video, police determined that the suspect smashed the store’s glass front door to make entry, after which he tried to steal a display phone, but was unsuccessful.
Then, the suspect tried to open a safe, but again failed.
“The male then went through several boxes, removed the security bar to the back door, then went in and out of the back door several times before finally leaving,” the report said. “The suspect took a box from the store, but (the manager said) the box was empty.”
As they investigated, officers discovered blood on the main sales floor and on several doors, including the one that led to the safes. The department’s Crime Scene Unit responded and collected the blood for evidence.
The suspect is described as a black man who is believed to be 18-25 years old. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, black jogging pants, gray socks and black sandals.
