GCPS has 33 2019 Georgia Scholars

A total of 33 GCPS seniors were named as Georgia Scholars by the Georgia Department of Education.

The Georgia Boards of education announced 33 Gwinnett County Public Schools students as 2019 Georgia Scholars.

The Gwinnett students are part of a group of 260 graduates from the state to be recognized. Georgia scholars are selected from students who excel in rigorous coursework as well as contributing to their schools and communities with extracurricular activities.

The scholars came from 12 different GCPS schools. Brookwood High School featured the most with 13 Georgia Scholars, followed by North Gwinnett, Grayson and Shiloh high schools with three each. Dacula, Discovery and Parkview high schools all had two Georgia Scholars, while Archer, Duluth, Mill Creek, Mountain View and Norcross high schools each had one.
