Suwanee officials announced on Tuesday that the Smithereens will be the headline performers at this year’s Suwanee Wing Fest and Concert in August.

The city of Suwanee has lined up, for its annual Wing Fest and Concert, a band who is willing to give too much passion.

City officials announced the Smithereens will headline this year’s event, which will be held Aug. 10 at Suwanee Town Center Park at the intersection of Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road and Buford Highway. The band had multiple hits in the 1980s and ’90s, including “Too Much Passion,” “Only a Memory” and “A Girl Like You.”

The event will also include the annual Suwanee Wing Eating contest before the concert.

Early music for the wing festival begins at 5:30 p.m., and the wing-eating contest will take place at 7:30 p.m. The Smithereens will take the stage at 8:15 p.m.

Admission to the event is free.
