Running out of time to buy gifts for Christmas?
If you are at the point where you can no longer get a gift delivered in time, consider one of these last minute gifts that don't need to be shipped.
Give the gift of free shipping

Almost everyone you know uses Amazon.com but they may not get free shipping and all the benefits of Amazon Prime. Even if they are currently a prime member, you can pay for their next renewal.
You can purchase a one-year Prime gift membership for $119 or a three-month Prime gift membership for $38.97, plus the applicable taxes on Amazon.com.

Give the gift of food

Restaurant gift cards may seem like an overdone gift but if you find the restaurant your gift recipient REALLY likes, it could be a thoughtful gift.
Couple of tips:Â
• Most restaurants will give you a free gift card if you buy gift cards in bulk.
• Shoppers clubs like Costco sell gift cards in bulk for restaurants at a discount.
• If this is a really last minute (on your way to see them) gift, you can usually buy a restaurant gift card at Publix or Kroger. There is usually a fee involved and no discount.
Give the gift of books

Do you know someone who loves "books on tape"?Â
Give them a subscription to Audible. The service offers lots of audio books and podcasts to choose from.
You can purchase a gift subscription right online at audible.com.
Give the gift of money

Still at a loss for what to get someone for Christmas?
People like cash, especially with the current economic situation. Any amount of money is greatly appreciated.
Visa or Mastercard gift cards can be used anywhere Visa or Mastercard are accepted. The recipient can choose the merchant.
Couple of tips:
• Just like restaurant cards, you can purchase these cards in bulk for a discount at shoppers clubs, like Costco.
• If you know the recipient is really hurting financially this year, a grocery store or gas gift card may be the best gift.
• You can also buy these cards at grocery stores like Publix and Kroger for a fee.
Give the gift of charity

What do you buy for someone who has everything?
There are a lot of people who are really happy with what they have and another small trinket will not bring them any more joy.
Consider giving to charity in the name of the person. This is a very thoughtful gift and a way to support their favorite charities.
There is a gift card service called Tis Best where you can buy a gift card and the recipient can go to the Tis Best site to choose from hundreds of charities, including many local charities.
Head to tisbest.org for more information and print out a gift card for the gift recipient.
Give the gift of news

We would be remiss if we didn't mention the importance of community journalism.
Consider purchasing a gift subscription to the Gwinnett Daily Post or contributing to the operating costs in their name.
This has been a rough year for everyone, including newspapers and media outlets.
You can purchase a print delivery subscription here. (Digital access to gwinnettdailypost.com is included with the price.)
If the recipient doesn't live in the delivery area, consider a digital-only gift subscription here.
If you are interested in contributing to the operating expenses in someone's name, you can do that here.
