Downtown Duluth town green

The Duluth Town Green will host Gwinnett county’s first-ever vegan festival, the Indie Green Festival, on Saturday.

Gwinnett County’s first-ever vegan festival will be held in Duluth this weekend.

The Indie Green Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday on the Duluth Town Green in the heart of the city’s downtown district. It is being hosted by the city and Freeze Cream and is free for the public to attend.

“Our goal is to always bring new and exciting events to our community, so when we were approached by this festival’s organizers we knew we had to bring it to Duluth,” festival coordinator Kristin Edwards said in a statement.

Among the offerings are vegan and vegetarian cuisine as well as items sold by independent artisans. There will also be fitness classes, a kid’s zone, information about living an eco-friendly lifestyle, guest speakers and food demonstrations to help show how people can make a transition to plant-based living.
