Incompetent Leadership

Gwinnettnative or Gwinnettracist??? To make such an ignorant blanket statement regarding a group of people is just reprehensible. I refuse to think of elderly, handicap, and children as "TRASH." I don't know, but I think that GOD would agree with me... Now, to the subject in question. The gang and/or criminal activity problems in Gwinnett County are in part due to the lack of leadership, and oversight by the brass at the police department. Chief Charles Walters' ego has corrupted his thougth process to the point that he refuses to work with other municipalities/L.E. agencies in the area. This has created such a disparaging disadvantage for our brave men and women in which the only ones benefiting are the criminals in our county. Municipalities are also responsible for not loaning officers to the county to combat this problem. Did you know that these same municipalities loan officers to federal agencies such as: D.E.A., A.T.F. F.B.I., etc... because of the monetary reward. If you don't believe me ask Chief Johnson with the Lawrenceville Police Department, who did not know what to do when his department was awarded 2 MILLION dollars for loaning officers to the FEDS. Not a bad return, when the officers only make around 40K, and any overtime expenses incurred are also paid by the FEDS. However, smaller municipalities do not loan officers to the county's gang unit to combat this increasing problem. Why not? you may ask, well because there is no monetary return, and this is commonly view by most Chiefs as an expense. However, I disagree with this point of view, and see it as an investment. An investment with great dividends. A safer environment with a greater quality of life for all law abaiding residents to enjoy, and raise their families.

Thank you for taking the time to read my comments, and I hope you gained some knowledge and a different perspective. I hope to continue to share some of my knowledge on important subjects such as this one with you in hopes that we can become educated voters, who will use this new found knowledge at the ballot box to hold our elected and appointed officials accountable for their actions or lack thereof.

Thanks,

Just another concern citizen
