    MOUNTAINS INTO THIS EVENING...
    .A STRONG UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM CROSSED THE SOUTHERN
    APPALACHIANS AND UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA THIS MORNING FROM THE
    NORTHWEST. VERY COLD AIR SPILLED IN BEHIND THE SYSTEM WHICH
    CHANGED RAIN SHOWERS OVER TO NOW ACROSS THE HIGHER
    ELEVATIONS...AND ALSO IN FOOTHILLS AND PIEDMONT AREAS WHERE SHOWER
    RATES WERE HIGH ENOUGH. SNOW SHOWERS EAST OF THE MOUNTAINS WILL
    STEADILY DWINDLE TODAY...WITH ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATING SNOW
    GRADUALLY PARING BACK TOWARD THE TENNESSEE BORDER. THE SNOWFALL
    WILL TAPER OFF STEADILY TONIGHT.
    ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS
    EVENING...
    * LOCATIONS...THE MOUNTAINS OF NORTHEAST GEORGIA...THE GREENVILLE
    COUNTY MOUNTAINS...AND PORTIONS OF THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS
    NEAR THE BLUE RIDGE.
    * HAZARDS...ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL.
    * TIMING...NUMEROUS SNOW SHOWERS WILL LIKELY CONTINUE INTO EARLY
    AFTERNOON BEFORE ENDING LATER IN THE DAY.
    * ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 2 TO 4 INCHES IN THE NORTH
    CAROLINA MOUNTAINS...1 TO 3 INCHES...IN THE SOUTH CAROLINA AND
    GEORGIA MOUNTAINS. HIGHER ELEVATIONS IN THE NORTH CAROLINA
    MOUNTAINS MAY SEE 4 TO 6 INCHES.
    * IMPACTS...THE WET SNOW COMBINED WITH VERY WINDY CONDITIONS
    COULD PRODUCE ISOLATED TREE AND POWER LINE DAMAGE. ROAD
    SURFACES MAY SEE SLIGHTLY LESS SNOW ACCUMULATION...BUT BRIDGES
    AND OVERPASSES MAY BECOME SNOW COVERED AND ICY.
    * TEMPERATURES...IN THE MID AND UPPER 30S.
    * WINDS...NORTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH.
