This is one of the consequences when we choose to selectively enforce our immigration laws.
"That was a vestige of the Ku Klux Klan, which became the [John] Birch Society and now is the Tea Party." Andrew Young on NPR.
With comments like this Andy might not be the best advocate for an accurate portrayal of history.
The mission of this citizen committee is in plain sight in the article - "to find the best use of this county asset (Briscoe Field)". There is data available to analyze it's use as a county operated general aviation field i.e. its current use. The county has neither the funding or the expertise to develop it as a county operated commercial field.
The data and studies to privatize it as either general or commercial aviation will be provided by the companies that bid if the RFP requests two proposals, general or commercial and if you allow each bidder to bid on one or both options.
Then let the committee make a recommendation on which is in the best interest of the entire county.
Nice of King Alvin to try and make this a racial issue. "you know we've had two school systems before in this state. We used to say they were separate but equal. Now, the separate was correct, but I don't think the equal was, do you?" The issues seem to be power and money with education as an afterthought.
Someone should advise King Alvin that "full-funding" is whatever amount he receives from the state each year.
