One more thing, why does she need or get a free public defender? I assume she has an income and assets. I think it says, "if you cannot afford" an attorney.

I agree with citized 100%. They are always ashamed when they get caught. Now she is talking to the Feds about other land deals that went down. I hope the county plans to sue to get the money we over spent on all these deals. Also how in the world is she allowed to appoint her son to anything?

An Appointment to and a degree from a service academy will pretty much set you up for life. Any employer would hire you. What a total waste of a golden opportunity.

How can Alvin Wilbanks continued to take pay increases while his employees are being let go and have their pay cut for four years in a row. His salary and perks have grown by 30 or $40,000 during this same time. You lead by example, I don't have a problem with him making the kind of money he's making. But I do have a problem with him to taking raises while his employees take cuts. Again you lead by example, Alvin.

Is it $1.2 or $1.7 billion? The GDP says one thing and the AJC says another. $500 million is quite a difference. But without qualified math teachers, how would we know?

I love the fact that they don't have the money for teachers but they have hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend on an old house for "educational purposes.". I think the money is much better spent on science, math and English, these that might actually lead to a real job and better life.

I would be willing to bet Jan does not pay taxes. The fact is 50% of the people pay no taxes, yet many of them somehow get tax refunds. Another large portion of the working public only pay taxes on a small portion of their income. e.g. waiters, car hops and others who are mostly payed by tips. Then there are the people who work "off the books." e.g. day workers, illegals and people collecting government handouts and need to keep their income down to stay on the program. Let's not forget the criminals; drug dealers and thieves. They don't pay taxes on their incomes either.

The Fair Tax would ensure that EVERYONE pays their fair share. We all buy stuff whether we get our money legally or not.

As for Jan's claim we are a socialist country. I think she needs to read up a little on the definition of socialism. Providing police and military as well as roads and school does not make us a socialistic nation.
