Sonoma: This isn't the first time you've mentioned the paper dresses. lol, What's your obsession with that? Those aren't books pulled from library shelves. They were damaged and discarded items that were no longer useful. And visit any library outside of Gwinnett. You're going to have to wait for that new James Patterson 10 times longer than at GCPL. No other library system in Georgia stacks up to Gwinnett's.
Dentaldawg: Where do the people who cannot afford books or internet access in their homes go when they need to do research or use a computer to search for jobs? Not everyone has the disposable income for a private internet connection or to purchase books from Amazon.
You people do understand supply and demand, right? And also that prices are steadily increasing over time because oil is a finite resource that is running out and becoming more difficult to obtain.
And I agree that the Kiss Ins aren't that great of an idea. There are better ways to fight injustice.
"Such public displays of affection are inappropriate for the setting for normal couples, let alone gay couples."
You make it seem that it's more inappropriate for gay couples to kiss in public than heterosexual couples. PDA is PDA, no matter who's involved. Your comment comes off as prejudiced, whether you realize it or not. And if it's what you believe, it's your right, but it needs to be pointed out.
It's amusing that you're upset. Why are you so annoyed/disgusted by people defending homosexuals? What's your problem?
lol...It's still the bible, dude.
Mr. Cathy can speak his mind in any way he pleases. That's his prerogative as an American citizen, and the fact that he can do that is wonderful, even if his opinion is reprehensible.
So, is anyone here going to try to mount an argument against gay marriage that doesn't amount to "it's unethical" or "the bible tells me so" or "I don't like 'their kind'"? I'm still waiting for a compelling reason why heterosexuals are the only group that should be permitted to marry. I have a feeling I'm going to be waiting a while...
Isn't the tea party crowd big on individual freedom? What about the freedom for consenting adults to marry who they please?
“I’ve been surprised that the gays and lesbians have been so up in arms about it,” King said. “Because I do feel like most Americans are for traditional marriage."
It's easy to be baffled and complacent when your right to equality isn't being challenged.
