I bet the people applying for permits ARE taxpayers. Their taxes pay for the staffing of the government. The staff is there to serve the taxpayers. The permits are NOT free so the seekers are paying an additional tax to take advantage of this opportunity the government has thoughtfully provided :rolleyes:

The good ole USA is the world's dumping ground for non-productive and counter-productive people. There was an article in a newspaper last year about an apartment building in Atlanta with many old Russian immigrants who were receiving checks and housing assistance from the taxpayer. Their productive lives were spent in Russia fighting the cold war [ on the Russian side ]. Now that they are no longer able to contribute to the Russian economy where do they end up ? Good ole USA, dragging down our economy. Them jerks in the Kremlin are smarter than the jerks in Washington.
