These 129 students are .003% of the students required to pass. Basically it means that they did good during the year but failed the test due to something other than lack of skill. If your child got stressed out during their driving exam or on the SAT you would let them do it again???? Or tell them to bad try again next year?
All the newspaper did is report what was told to them via the plaintiffs in the case. Once the court makes a decision they will report on that. They allowed you to post what you believe to be true.
You do know that school board members only get like 20to25K per year. If you think that is bloated, fine, maybe they should not even get paid. I am for it being public service. But, most would not consider that a bloated paycheck.
These kids are live in an area that school is not always put first. High school students need to work to help the family and older elementary and middle need to parent the little ones. GCPS cannot save every child from the reality of the fact that life is not friendly to everyone.
Wow, you and many others disappointment me. Did you know that 25% of the county population was born outside of the U.S.? So, 250k people, if 25k are kids and if 10% of those kids are illegal than that is 2500 kids. That will clear out 100 teaching positions. What if it was 5000 kids, 10000 kids, or 15000 kids? All that will happen is teachers would get laid off due to lack of need. Fewer teachers, less admin, less office staff, less custodians, less bus drivers, etc. Your solution would just hurt the economy more. The parents pay rent/mortgage to someone, who has to pay property tax. So they are paying their share of tax for these kids too. Also, many kids learn rather quickly. The ability to learn has nothing to do with whether or not you are legal. By the time they hit 2nd or 3rd grade they are at par if not higher than their legal counterparts. If you want to talk about where they belong, well then let's just give back all the land that was stolen through Manifest Destiny, the Indian Removal Act, and colonization. That way I and all the other white folk can move back to Europe where things are even worse. The Latinos can have back Texas, and the West Coast. I'm not going to sit here and type up every group of people, but I'm sure you can see my point.

You can already hear them now. No need to imagine. It would become a constant, rather than once an hour or so for large/loud aircraft.

How is a voucher program going to "change" education? Are the leaders and teachers going to magically change?

The problem is that we are all going to end up having to carry documentation for no reason. Why do you need documentation for water or sewer hookup?
