I will miss the intellectual jousting (with some), and even the mindless gibberish (the rest- you know who you are) of the party cheerleaders and government myrmidons.

I will not miss the annoying Japanese anime'-like page shifts caused by ads continually opening and collapsing on this site.

If the GDP wishes to use Facebook, that is their prerogative.
If I choose not to, that is mine.

Less hits on their website......but then, it's not about the the money, is it, but civility in the discussions.

Oops...maybe they're right!

Oh, like when we were told if we didn't pass E-SPLOST our property taxes would go up?

Let's see, how well did that work out: we passed E-SPLOST AND our school taxes went up anyway!

Preemptively taxing yourself is no protection against the raising of property taxes by politicians addicted to spending your money.

It's astonishing that seemingly rational people would willingly vote a tax upon themselves.

Makes your elected politician's job so much easier.

jjbod1-

If the SPLOST passes, they can still raise property taxes whenever they wish.
But you can vote them out of office next election.
You can't vote the SPLOST out.

"The idea for the local post was inspired by the Georgia Department of Transportation, which saw an increased presence on one of busiest parts of I-85 as a way to help the flow of traffic."

Traffic came to complete stop on I-85N at Old Peachtree yesterday afternoon.
Wreck? Stalled vehicle? Car fire?

Nah....just a trooper writing someone a ticket on the right shoulder.

Yeah, it'll help the flow of something....but not traffic.

First they came for the communists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.
Then they came for the socialists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Catholic.
Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me.
