Bojangle, you are right! But it is also the paid "professional" staff at the top, aka Stephens and Bovos who have had the reigns and have sent the county down the tubes. Not only do we need good elected leaders, we need integrity, professionalism, and frankly, just some common sense at the top.....something we certainly don't have now.

Lassiter, Kenerly, and Bannister....what do they all have in common? Yea, they are all crooks, but they all also appointed the CA and Deputy CA who have run the county into the ground. Gwinnett used to be a respected county, and now it is a laughing stock. How long will Nash support these buffoons?

So, what do Lasseter, Kenerly, and Bannister have in common? No, not that they are all crooks.....they all appointed the current County Administrator! Make you wonder what kind of person he is, what type of leadership he provides, and why the current Chairman continues to put up with him!!

Oh, they tried that before!! When ol' Wayne Hill gave us the SPLOST, he promised a roll-back in the property tax, but guess what, they raised it right back up and we still have the SPLOST. Don't kid yourself.....with this lying bunch and their sneaky deceitful CA and deputy CA, they are just looking for more money and the 1-year bonus that comes from passing a LOST before they have to roll-back the millage rate.

"O’Leary acknowledged they probably exist, but said he hasn’t heard directly from anyone in Gwinnett opposed to the facility." Uh, yea....I am in Gwinnett and I am opposed! I suspect that if O'Leary or the Board of Commissioners held a public hearing on the matter, they would hear directly from a lot of people opposed to the facility. But why should they start listening to the citizens now? Stadium.....airport.....casino..... "Chairwoman Charlotte Nash has said that the proposal is 'certainly worth considering.'" How out of touch is she? Or does she have some of the action? The County gives hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to Partnership Gwinnett, and this is the type of economic development we end up with? Casinos and trips to China? The names may change, but the citizens still get screwed.

If Nash was so interested in economic development, why did she let the entire county economic development staff walk out the door with absolutely no attempt to keep them? Nor has she made any attempt to replace them. Guess economic development really isn't that important. The County gives hundreds of thousands of tax payers dollars to the Chamber every year, and no one at the County is actively engaged in the process. But hey, trips to China are fun.
