The article mentions that there are 8 other cities using the HOT lanes. I saw them a few years ago in Miami on I-95. There were two lanes in each direction with a physical barrier between them and the main travel lanes. Has any other city simply installed the lanes and painted stripes on the road? I think that is why these lanes will fail here.
These lanes will be of little or no use to anyone who does not live in Gwinnett or maybe Barrow Counties..... why else would any one waste the time to get the Peach Pass - and despite the fact that I live in Gwinnett, there is no way I can afford on an educator's salary to pay the extra $3-5 thousand someone estimated a year's worth of travel would cost in these lanes. What will the state do if/when these lanes prove to be a huge failure? Pay to take them down at additional cost to the taxpayers of Georgia?
