I am just wondering what is meant by 'duly authorized official'? Does that mean school board, adminstrators or maybe even a principal? It's been on he books forever. I wonder if it has ever been used?

Such authorization shall specify the weapon or weapons which have been authorized and the time period during which the authorization is valid.

It's not that the SROs are overpaiid, it's that Gwinnett officers are severly UNDERPAID. And yes, SRO don't work nights and weekends because their primary duty is schools which happen to be in session DURING THE DAY. And by the way, the sros at the games are paid the same rate of pay as all the oher off duty officers working the games
