Our thanks and prayers go out to our brave firefighters, who risk their lives every day to keep us safe. We are blessed in Gwinnett Co to have professional and well trained Police and fire departments.
I suppose the closer you are to the flight paths, the more dangerous it looks. I hear and see them fly over all day. It looks like an accident waiting to happen, to me. I hope to be proven wrong on this one!
Sad but true. If you are not happy with what your representative is or isn't doing that's your alternative. You might as well not vote though, because Democrats don't get elected here
Well I hope they close Briscoe field until funding becomes available. I've lived with-in a mile of Briscoe for less than 4 years and have seen 4 fatal crashes in that time. It will be even more dangerous now.
k, I hope your judgement is not clouded by your own personal experience. I'm sure the police, media have used facts such as: Mr Cleary did not comply with court order to check in every day of visit, he was just released from rehab, he liquidated assets, he purchased gun on the trip, he turned off phone and is not communicating with family/friends, he did not return kids at Christmas - to determine this is a kidnap/child in danger situation. The smiling pix you site were taken before the date the boys thought they would be returning home. Many innocent children are happy to be with parents they don't understand are dangerous. Didn't the little boys out west run smiling into their fathers home, just before their father slammed the door in the social worker's face, took a hatchet to the boys then lit the match that exploded the whole house, killing all three? The behavior described above could lead to the same type of crime. That is why most of us are praying and hoping to find the boys and the father before any one is hurt. I have posted the Levi alert to FB friends in hope that some one will find them soon. Mr Cleary can't hide if everyone is looking.
I agree with roaads1. There is a good deal more to this story. I hope we do get to learn exactly what is going on there. I have been suspicious of them for the past 3.5 yrs and am glad to finnally see the feds interested.
This country has been invaded by people using our resources and not paying taxes or complying with or laws. It's a bloodless coup. Several years ago my son was struck by one of these undocumented/uninsured drivers, totaling his vehicle. The illegal didn't stop at his stop sign. I counted the broken laws: illegal entry, unlicensed driver, unregistered/uninsured vehicle, failure to obey traffic law. The police said there was nothing they could do. We had to pay to replace the vehicle ourselves because the insurance company said our policy didn't cover damage done by uninsured vehicles. The same thing happened to my girlfriend in California. I'm glad we have 287 (g) enforcement. We need more such laws to protect us!
Jack, I thought the exact same thing as I read this article. This issue needs to be closed, permanantly. Any one familiar with this area knows it would do nothing positive for the people living here and would cause great harm. It is too populated for comercial air. Recently there have been 3 fatal crashes, even killing people in their homes. The place for the new comercial air field is south of Atlanta, where there are huge parcells of unpopulated land.
