Some study showed that average kids who were used to working for good grades did better in "real" life than the whiz kids (for whom everything came easy) because they were USED to having to work and continued to do so without question. Maybe some truth to that.

Brooks always returns phone calls promptly and if he doesn't know the anwser to a question or isn't familiar with an issue, he will thoroughly research it and then get back ASAP. He has been a blessing to the entire county, especially with his auctioneering skills at fundraisers anfd I hope everyone gets a chance to hear his Roy Rogers presentation.

I love the way Louise has a whole wardrobe of school colors to wear to each of her schools when she visits. And long ago when I was working at Lilburn Elementary, I organized a project of designing quilt squares as a going away gift for a retiring teacher who loved to quilt. Louise was visiting the day I started handing out cloth squares and at first I was a little shy about asking her to design one. She was thrilled to be included and she was the first one to turn hers in.

What a touching and appropriate way to remember these innocent children and their teachers, by ringing out to the world that God is still among us.

You were wise to "buy some time" and not waste money on a roof that might not even be here come Saturday. But if it is, and you are doomed to pay for repairs, take heart in the fact that this kind of shift happens only once every 5,000 years.

One of my favorite places to shop. Friendly people, good buys on lots of name brands, and everything goes to a good cause.
