As a biker myself, we all encounter the hazards of the metro area on a daily basis. Sad, very sad. I believe all grassy medians need to have some type of fencing to stop out of control traffic from crossing over into opposite traffic.
There is now data that shows public safety wasn't effected by the radar gun moratorium this past year or so. That, to me proves it is only a source of ill gotten revenue and nothing more.
"Everybody wants this as quickly as we can, but we've got to do it right," Meacham said. "It's more of a public safety matter, not a revenue matter."
Oh, that is rich. What a lie. Just admit it and we can call the PD Revenue Agents again.
I was traveling through Snellville on Tuesday and noticed a huge up take in blue light during the afternoon, into rush hour. Chargers and the Ford SUV's the bosses ride in.
I don't necessarily blame the front line Traffic Cops. They are trained to do what the City Halls tells em what to do. That is, get us more money.
Over the past year, traffic safety numbers do not support heavy speeder enforcement.
Fact, traffic enforcement has more to do with Revenue rather than Safety. They just don't wan to admit it.
My family sat in the traffic mess for four hours, only to find out it was closed. I scored a personal win by not going (slept in). We see it as a blessing, knowing that God placed a needy (er) family ahead of mine. I'm not unemployed, but only working part time. We could have used this blessing, but I trust God has directed those resources to another family.
With that said, I would only suggest to the great staff at 12Stone do this: Next year, with the help of local charities and Schools: Set up a registration starting in the fall and use this registration to organize pick ups and traffic flow. Many folks wasted precious resources to get to this event only to be turned away (by some very rude LEO's). Many folks wasted Gas for nothing.
12Stone, I applaud your efforts. Please consider registration efforts next year.

Then why am I seeing a hiring sign at Jordon park announcing they are actually hiring drivers? That makes no sense.
