Aimee's courage is amazing and awe-inspiring!!! So much wisdom and calm acceptance for one so young. Says a great deal about the way she was raised....kudos to her parents! Praying for her still.....
Again, I respectfully beg to differ roaads1. Following the procedural guidelines to file a complaint against an officer does not entitle one to a fair and unbaised review of the situation. If you believe that, you need to take off the rose-colored glasses and take a look at the real world.
Jeff, are you asking if I have first hand experience with criminal charges? Let me assure you that I do not. In fact, I have worked in the legal field since 1993 and am also a government employee. He may appear to be a "good and honorable man" on the outside, but when push comes to shove, his first loyalty is to the GCPD, not the citizens of Gwinnett County. I do have first hand experience, though not what you are implying. My son was not a criminal either, if that is also what you are asking. My son was a kind, decent lawabiding young man. He was a better man in his short life than Danny Porter could ever hope to be!!!!
Directed to Jeff, obviously you have never had a situation that put you in a position adversarial to the police. Mr. Porter is a stauch supporter of the GCPD, even when they are in the wrong. Please, please don't tell me how ethically and morally strong he is!!! I most respectfully beg to differ. The man who caused my son's death walks free, simply because his son is employed by the GCPD. His actions would have caused any of we "normal people" to be arrested and charged but not this man, due to his ties to the GCPD. Mr. Porter intentionally turned a blind eye, despite our repeated pleas for justice.
