Would someone please take a look at the out of control salaries for all except school teachers. The teachers are where the children get a education not 500 people in the ISC building. Compare the salaries in the real working world to those of everyone above teachers. I wonder how many employees in the school system make over $100K. You might be surprised. Cut the salaries, quit buying land, reduce the larger overhead, and then you would not have to MAKE the public pay for your wants, and not needs.

Could this really be that people have run out of their unemployment and are no longer in the count?

If store parking lots and fast food places are any sign, then yes yellow buses are all over the place doing nothing. Looks to me this is a easy place to make up some of the budget if not all.

I will be the first to say that the school systems education is one of the best if not the best, but it is not due to all the high level positions at the ISC, or even all the other levels from all the support staff. Which by the way, most if not all who do not have a degree, are paid more than the teachers.

Give the credit where the credit is due. THE TEACHERS. These teachers are so good at what they do they know how to teach. WHy should the teachers have to pay out of pocket for supplies, while the ISC and Director level salaries continue to increase, Put the money in the TEACHERS and not the excessive support staff.

Waiting to see the whos, whats, wheres and how they are making these adjustments. Many adjustments should have been made many years ago. Don't spend the budget just to spend the budget. It has always been said in government, that if you do not spend it you will not get it.

Even though the board knew there would be short and they still made new positions at the ISC as well as continue to build schools when others are not fully utilized. JAW's continues to grow his staff getting him further and further away from the public who pays his massive salary. The entire GCPS has so many levels of management it is mind boggling. This is bigger than most Fortune 500 companies levels.

Reduce from the top in all departments. Just start with the picture with this article. You talk about a waste.

ssilover1 numerous times. It falls on deaf ears. This is a system that does not want to hear solutions, they feel they have them all. Many of these bloggers have gone and presented to the BOE or the superintendent.

There are many professionals in Gwinnett County who could and would help if asked. I feel the problem is the ISC does not want the public to really know. Please don't say I and the public have the right and can see all that the BOE does. Really, do we?

That is a serious question. This is a big corporation. Ask people who know how to run big corporations how they are able to do this year in and year out.

As the previous blogger stated. Heavy at the top. Let me add way too heavy at the top. This system know where the waste is but chooses to ignore. There are way too many bosses making well over 6 figures a year. Why is the money not placed where it needs to be on the teachers, rather than on bias land purchases, and bigger and bigger ISC building.

Take a good look BOE. it is right in front of your nose.

I even spoke to a bus driver the other day who told me she is allowed to drive her bus home and to her other job when she is not driving. How can a school system allow this to happen. I saw this person shopping in Barrow County, where she says ahe lives. REALLY.

I said in a earlier post when the HOT lane issue came up that SRTA was going to the biggest winner in all this. If you look throughout the county were the buses pickup, since HOT lanes ridership has increased beyond belief. It is as stated, to be forced down our throats until we either give in a use the lanes or give in and ride the bus system thus leading to MARTA coming to the ends of Gwinnett County.

This type leadership seems to be in all parts of Gwinnett County Gov. to include the school system. We as the public seem to have "no" say in what happens. Please don't follow up and say that SPLOST got voted in. It got forced in.

OutofMoney 3 years, 1 month ago on Usage triples in first month of HOT lanes

Please give the public the number using the lanes that had to pay. ALso what is the average usage each day of paid drivers. Not the SRTA buses etc..

I bet this is number that will not be made public. As the earlier person post. You can make the numbers say anything you would like.
