MissDaisyCook 8 months, 3 weeks ago on LETTERS: Royal baby nice respite from stateside news

How about another prospective...........hmmmmmm, would it be incorrect to tag this cute little follow as a welfare baby? Neither of his parents have a real job and the entire family lives off a subsidy from the British taxpayers. Just a thought early on a Saturday morning.

MissDaisyCook 8 months, 4 weeks ago on Thousands take to Atlanta streets to protest Trayvon Martin verdict

The argument that stand your ground laws are somehow discriminatory agaisnt blacks is at best shallow, but more likely hollow. If a black person is killed in this country, 92% of the time it is by another black person. If you want to discuss inter-racial crime; 81% of the time the perpetrator is black and the victim is white.
We have to be more responsible for ourselves and our familes' safety. The police do as good a job as they can but cannot be everywhere. That includes arming yourself if you choose; AFTER adequate use and safety training. The laws should encourage us to be more responsible for our own well being and not set us up to be victims.

MissDaisyCook 9 months ago on Zimmerman found not guilty in killing of Fla. teenager

Anyone with a minimal level of intelligence knows this was the correct verdict. Since there was not an immediate arrest, the civil rights war-lords in this country had a "spell;" and pushed the state/prosecution to make an arrest to avoid a "scene." For those in the criminal justice field know that it is not unheard of for there not to be an immediate arrest. A thorough investigation is preferred to a "knee-jerk" reaction. With all the political pressure the prosecution did not have a choice but to file charges, even though they may not have believed an adequate case existed. However, they did put up all the evidence and let those throughly interested in the truth see that they did not have a good case to try. Simply because something bad happens, it does not mean a crime was committed. Somewhere during the case it was said, "it is a tragedy that Trayvon Martin is dead, but would have been a travesty if George Zimmerman had been convicted." How true.

MissDaisyCook 9 months, 3 weeks ago on Holiday DUI campaign begins

Hey Say, Your figures are way, way off. The vast majority of vehicle crashes are caused by other than drunk drivers. Most other crashes are caused by drivers not paying full attention to driving; doing things like texting, talking on phones, checking email, looking at maps, reading newspapers or books, applying makeup, eating, fiddling with the sound system, talking with passengers, holding a pet, etc. If you are doing anything besides driving you are less safe. Even a hands free cell phone takes your full attention away from driving; you are concentrating on the conversation, not your driving. Just that split second of distraction can be serious. As you may have noticed, a great deal of attention of the media is not focused on distracted drivers.

Never had Ms. Deen's food or been in one of her restaurants. But after this ridiculous hoopla, I fully intend to make a special trip to visit one and enjoy her fine Southern cooking. Hang in there Ms. Paula.

You can certainly blame Obama for not fixing it.
My Daddy once told me you can't drink yourself sober or spend yourself out of debt. We have plenty of tax revenue coming in; we (the administration) overspends on bloated, inefficient, unnecessary, and corrupt governmental programs.

MissDaisyCook 1 year, 2 months ago on Driveway murder suspect released on bond

Mr. Sailors being released on a murder charge is significant; him being released on a $11,000+ indicates the prosecution does not think much of the murder charge. The police often over-charge a case and leave it up to the DA to take the heat for indicting on a more appropriate, lesser offense, if any. We'll see.

Yes I'm scared; Scared of the Obama gun Nazis coming through the door looking for guns, ammo and NRA magazines. God save our republic from this Administration.
