You evidence either a tremendous ignorance of the facts or a deliberate lack of concern for the truth. The true issues were never about religion; they were about traffic and an improper use of residential property. Are you aware of the large Hindu temple in Lilburn; but located in a more appropriate location?
The small town of Lilburn does not have the resources that the overbearing, federal government "Justice" Department and the bumbling, incompetent fool living in the White House has to stomp out what's right.
As in so many settlement cases, it is about money and not what is right.
This heavy handed justice department; part of an incompetent, bumbling, and corrupt administration, is wrong in its assessment of the Lilburn issue. Any honest, slightly intelligent person, with even a small amount of information on the surrounding area knows that the opposition to the re-zoning was about increased traffic and inappropriate land use in a residential area. Just travel a short distance down the road to a very large Hindu temple which was approved without objection since it was in an appropriate area already. Does this sound like an intolerant community? The small town of Lilburn would not have been able to withstand the onslaught of the federal government and all it resources. They settled only for the reason to save the citizens the money.
Please do not be taken in by the anti-death penalty groups. They do not use the truth to push their agenda. If you oppose the death penalty; fine, just be honest with your arguments. There was physical evidence and the recantations were coerced by the "good reverends" or defense attorney's for this unrepentent killer. Is your recollection of an event more credible immediately after it happened, or 20 years later? This guy was a brutal, career criminal, that deserved this penalty. The only injustice is that it took so long for the McPhail family to see justice that they and Officer McPhail deserved.
I like the HOT lanes and have my PeachPass. Hopefully they will be around for a long time.
Oh my goodnes; I am one of the self-serving, selfish morons that John Galt is speaking of. I did not know that about myself. Lets us all not forget that before they were HOT lanes, they were HOV lanes. So this is not a new dedicated lane, just differently designated with a toll attached to it. Therefore, all the claimed additional traffic in the other lanes is minimal at best: from two person car pools to three person car pools for free rides.
Finally, we here in Gwinnett have our own group of self-indulgent, entitlement-addicted loosers.
How about sell, give away, dispose of, trade, swap, drop, or otherwise get rid of the Gwinnett "Burt Nasuti" Braves stadium? A money-drain from the "get go," and that is all that it will be.
The soap opera of the gaggle of fools from Snellville continues. It is not even in your city limits; why make yourselves look like such fools? As an aside, I grew up behind a funeral home with a crematory, and even worked in the funeral home for two years. There was no odor or visible emissions; and I don't have three eyes or a tail. Snellville is the Salem of the current century; chasing witches.
What a dilusional set of fools! What minimually intelligent morons can create a conspirancy to set this boy up and shoot him. The police acted appropriately with what they were faced; unfortunate, but necessary.
What? Is there anything in the questions that is false? Maybe the parents and that moronic Dubose character from the NAACP should encourage such factual studies instead of showing their ignorance of history by whinning they way they are. I guess since the NAACP has lost most of its credibility over the years, they have to take any soap box they can find. Pathetic.
I used to feel sorry for the citizens of Snellville because of their dysfunctional city commission and mayor. However, based upon the ignorant and misinformed opposition to a crematory in or near their city, they apparently get what they deserve. Now before the Snellvillian hoopla starts, I used to live in Snellville. Before that I lived behind a funeral home that had a crematory on site. There was no odor or visible fumes; and no babies were born with arms coming out of their forehead, nor frogs found with six legs. Hey this is the 21st. century, witch hunts are so passe.
You gotta have some actual skills to get a real job. This clown cannot do anything but agitate a non-existance issue.
Here we go again! It was land deals that got the commission in trouble; now its "consultant" fees from companies that do business with the county or county bureaus.
.... and those clowns at the AJC are doing an expose' on disproportionate discipline in our schools. If a disproportionate number of criminal acts/rules violations are committed by that group then the appropriate amount of discipline should be imposed on those group members; which, therefore, is not disproportionate.
Let us not rush to judgment. Remember the Duke Lacrosse team fiassco.
Please give us some limited commercial service out of Briscoe! I would love to be able to hop on an ASA size aircraft for a hop to Macon, Valdosta, Albany, Dothan, Brunswick, etc. without having to go to Hartsfield. I would even take the plane to Hartsfield to avoid the drive and Atlanta security. It does not have to be huge aircraft; the ASA are 30 - 50 passenger planes. Noise abatement hours could be early for the few take-offs and landings.
wait...wait...wait a minute. Isn't the Holocaust on par as just as terrible historical event as slavery? Where is that gaggle of fools protesting this lesson that had such a "concern" over the integration of slavery issues into the math lessons?
The "anti" crowd has no shame in trying to present themselves as open-minded. Tony Powell should have been honest before being appointed to the study committee, and stated that his mind is set against modernization of Briscoe. As far as GoodGuy claiming there are no successful regional airports; how about, Albany, Valdosta, Dothan, Brunswick. These are vital systems, with minimal traffic, and very helpful to their community. Small ASA type aircraft could provide this service; hugh jets could be restricted, or even banned.
If the crazy you are talking about is debbiestorm, I'll agree with you. This conspiratorial nut-case is seeing ghost behind every tree.
Amen! The will of a vocal, selfish, minority ruled the day. The BOC gave in to intimidation, not fact or reason. I will listen to anyone that lived in the area prior to the activation of the airport; if you moved in after it was already there - no room to whine.
The crime rate in Gwinnett will skyrocket on July 5th.
Let Goodell pay for the "thang."
