They have sold several public parks (shadgrove,...) to Lanier Islands, so wonder why they are opening new parks? Public boots the bill to develop it, and then Lanier Islands scoops it up and doubles the rate and pockets the profit.
If you win an election by accusing a quadriplegic Vietnam Vet of being unpatriotic, anything after that is small potatoes.
When you are CEO you can say and do as you please to your employees.
When you are a public figure, not so much.
This will be a laughing stock.
I'm curious as to how Lake Lanier properties has been able to purchase public campgrounds. Public campgrounds Shady Grove and Shoal Creek were sold to private interests of Lake Lanier properties. Probably others I missed. How can this be legal?
Why is it everything associated with lanier islands is expensive.
When they took over several public campgrounds the rates doubled and two day minimum.
$38 to go camping for one night keeps the locals away.
"By agreeing to keep the planes flying on time, Obama keeps public opinion on his side, which should be an asset." You answered you own question here. The only weapon Obama has left against the GOP is public approval.
GOP dug its own grave on this one. Right after 90% vote against gun background check, with Gabbey Gifford watching, they turn around and vote to easy air traffic, right before they head to airport for vacation. GOP will pay for this at election time.
If a family with 3 vehicles plans to come to GA, they need to plan to put up 1500*3=$4500 in cash to get plates. If they have 4 cars, that is $6000. That certainly will make people think twice before loading up the moving van for GA.
And those needing a new car, but considering leaving GA, will absolutely not buy a car in GA.
This tax is bad for everybody. New and used car sales will drop. Leases will be non-existent. Those who suffer will be the public and car dealers. Its not even good for the government because it only helps in the short run. The longer people keep their cars the less the state willl collect on tax. It was a stupid short sighted thing to do.
