Grew up in DeKalb County system and we paid a modest school supply fee at the start of the year. That was it! No sanitizer. no klenex or the like. If you wanted that it was your responsibility. There was no such thing as collecting things and having it put in the closet for all to use, like today. You know what we were a lot better off in those days. it made us realize that we had to take care of what we had, because no one else would. It was a much simpler time.

When you are on a 4 lane divided highway and there are apartment complexes along the road. Why can't the school buses turn into these complexes get off the main road and not stop traffic. We should require apartment complexes to have an area where the buses can turn around inside the complex. This would be a better idea than having the kids standing on the roadway like Beaver Ruin or PIB for example. This program may go the same way as R said, not sure.

In many professions you would lose your job and all benefits associated with that job. Professional Pro Players should be held to the same standards, if not higher. Just like Pete Rose, these players should be banned for life and their records be stripped from them. A Rod did use drugs and should be banned from the game and not be paid another dime.

Noticed that Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful may get some of these funds. It is bad enough that Connie Wiggins group gets the funds from the recycle items that you put on the curb, now this? One must ask how many of our tax dollars will they get this year as they have gotten in the past years? Rather give to our church that way we can track the funds and not have to worry about anyone making money off of this project.

Mack711 9 months, 1 week ago on Economy adds nearly 200K jobs in June

One must ask how many of these new jobs are minimum wage as compared to high paying manufacturing jobs. One must also ask is how many have given up looking for work and have gone to the welfare roles and food stamps. Just because the rate is 7.8% does not take into account the ones whose benefits have expired and the ones who have stopped looking. If you raise the minimum wage much higher some of these jobs will disappear. By raising the minimum wage you just add more cost of doing business to the customer. How much longer can we go on like this before the house of cards begins to crumble? not much longer. Bernie Madoff did nothing compared to what is going on in America today.

Just tried this site on a hotel that charges fees in Vegas. You do not give information just look for your hotel. The airlines have a lot of hidden fees that you may not be aware of until you arrive at the airport. Worth checking out. You do not have to give information of any kind.

Until you stop these rappers using the N word in their music and other terms that offend some then and only then will you have harmony in this country. There is a double standard that says you do it my way or we will destroy you, laws or no laws. Mr. Cathy has every right to speak his mind, we do not have to agree with him but at least let him speak and be heard. If you do not like the message then do not support him. First amendement rights.

You just made the best case for not going to downtown Duluth. No matter what they do this will be the main reason for not going. Like you we have stopped going into Duluth and avoiding this city all together.

Lets go back in time when this term was used a lot, prior to say 1965. Many used the term, she admitted it. Now lets move the clock forward to say 2000 and listen to some of the modern day rap artist, you hear this term used in their music on a regular basis as well as talking about ' popping a cop' and other terms that affect society today. Yet nothing is said or done about that to the extent that was done in this case. There was an effort to do something but may not have been sucessful. What she did was incorrect and agree that she need to apologize for this term. However the 'PC Police' will not accept this and has tried to 'destroy' her. We have two standards in this country when it comes to this type of behavior, as was demonstrated in this article. Paula will come back in some form maybe even stronger who knows.
