Just logged on to a new article and saw that a relative's facebook account pops up in the comment section. Yes that relative did use this computer over the weekend but since we do not have a FB account why did the relative's account pop up? This new format will cause some one lots of trouble in the future if the GDP continues with this new policy. If you have ever had your identity stolen then you will know what we are talking about. You are guilty until you prove yourself innocent.

lining Zuckerburg's pockets. Controling what they want to publish and stop the comments that they do not agree with the GDP editorial staff.

'We want readers to continue commenting on the site, but it’s our hope that the new system, where a real name is associated with the comments, will result in higher-quality comments and more civil discourse. Let us be clear: You can still say what you want regarding the stories and the people in them (within reason), it’s just that now your name will go with them.'

Did you at the GDP ever stop and think that by using a facebook account will truly stop the anonymous comments? Many out there have fake accounts just like some of the users of the comment section of your paper. You have our email addresses as part of your program to contact us if you wish. The problem is that you do not wish to weed out the ones that may or may not agree with your policy, You have taken away the free speech right to some extent and all that you want is the political correct thoughts and ideas. That amounts to censorship, not policy.

By the way the GDP is part of Charter cable bill we do not pay for your paper directly. Since you have changed your policy, will be contacting Charter Cable to change their policy of including free delivery of the GDP.

well guess that this is the last comment for me. Do not have a face book account and will not get one, Good while it lasted and enjoyed the times reading all of your comments. Have fun!! Should the GDP change their policy back to the current format then will be back. Bad decision GDP.

Mack711 8 months ago on LETTERS: County trash plan still rankles

We have had some problems with our so called 'Service.' The recycle guys throw things on the ground or in the street if it is not meant to be recycled In most cases the regular trash can is next to the bin and they could not open it to place it in the container? One of the new trucks where the operator sits in the truck took out several mailboxes in our subdivision, no one was compensated for this either, Yes they called. Missed some streets. These are just a few of the problems and there are probably more out there in the county. As for traffic on the streets, that is what they are built for. Most are not at home or have nothing to do but look out the window. the point is if this hauler in Peachtree Corners is using, and they may be the one that the county uses, then why are we having to pay more? Do you really want more government in our lives? You are paying too much. As for the funds for recycling and where those funds that is a very good question. Would like to have the answer to that one.

The article does not say who the hauler it also does not say if Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful is involved. Would like to know who the hauler is and if it is the same as anyone else in the county then we must ask why we, as Gwinnett Citizens, are forced to pay more. Can someone from Peachtree Corners tell us who the hauler is? Remember that Connie Wiggins and Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful is the ones who forced this deal onto the citizens of Gwinnett County along with Charlie Bannister, who resigned, Kevin Kennerly, who was charged with a crime, and Shirley Lassister, who is in Federal prison. That should tell us a lot about how we, as Gwinnet Citizens, got the shaft and just who got the gold mine is yet to be determined. If Peachtree Corners can get a lower rate why can't we?

Want to increase the flow of traffic, do away with the HOT lanes. Agree that traffic sometimes moves at speeds above the posted speed limit. However how about stopping the ones who do 45 in the left lanes. Slower traffic keep right needs to be enforced also as much as the speeders.

Sounds like robbing Peter to Pay Paul. This land should have been transferred to the schools system at no cost to the school system if it was already owned by the county. Shell game in progress.

If they wanted to stop speeding they could very easily. But bottom line is they do not want to stop it, they want to cash in on it. Seems that every agency uses their police department as a cash register as a way of making money when they need it. Agree that speeding is a problem in some cases, but not all.
