Kent 2 months, 1 week ago on Funding to increase for senior services

My question is, what have all these poor old seniors done all their life to make sure they can be self sufficient in their older years. It is all about decisions they made earlier which would have made them financially secure. Just because you are old does not entitle you to rob me just because I made the right decisions. Their lack of planning and sacrifice does not give them special rights to lessen my financial well being. Oh-let the children get all of grannys and grandpas assets in the childrens name so the children can get all the goodies and the taxpayers can pay for the old folks home, entertainment, and medical expenses. Then you have a Republican BOC who loves to buy geezer votes with taxpayer money. Shame on them and all you old farts who are all for increasing funding to the welfare state of Gwinnett county.

Kent 2 months, 1 week ago on Analysis: U.S. ethanol rules threaten gasoline supply crunch

Ethanol added to gasoline dramatically reduces fuel mileage. Lubrication to automotive fuel pumps is reduced resulting in failure of the pump, (I know this from my experience, and what mechanics have told me). It attracts moisture which harms the entire fuel system. The EPA requirement has also driven up food costs due to the fact grain is diverted away from feeding animals. I have repeatedly contacted our two Senators offices over the years, and suggested that at least the consumer be given a choice of buying gasoline without ethanol. The last contact with their offices was about a month ago and they will not even give a response of whether they still support the mandate. The answer is obvious. I will call again next week. The problem is that the majority of people do not realize the destructive effect ethanol is having on their cars and equipment, and not enough of those who do will make the effort to get changes made.

Kent 2 months, 4 weeks ago on Cities begin forming sales tax project lists

Why_not is demonstrating a classic example of the simple minded moochers who fully support Obama and all his disciples. Anyone who would use the vile vulgar term TEAbaggers demonstrates that they are certainly not the brightest light on the Christmas tree. When progs. can not logically support their left wing agenda they always revert to name calling.

Kent 3 months ago on LETTERS: Fund schools by closing corporate tax loopholes

Dmoore----It is so good to see that there are some intelligent people out there like yourself who actually grasp the fact that corporations do not pay taxes. Most politicians and citizens are either too stupid to know this or are ignorant. Bet this letter is from an Obama supporter.

Kent 3 months, 3 weeks ago on Sen. Chambliss won't seek re-election

Mr. Chambliss is a legend in his own mind. He is a poster child for what is wrong with the Republican party. Both him and his pal Johnny (along with their spouses ) made junket trips to Greenland to see for themselves the effect of climate change with the taxpayers footing the bill. Saxby has made sure the farmers in Ga. get the maximum agriculture subsidies allowable. He has done nothing to cut the food stamp program which is completely out of control (the majority of ag. subsidies go to the so called food nutrition program). The cellulose to ethanol facilities in Ga. he promoted cost the taxpayers over $150 million dollars that they were left holding the bag for. He voted Y on the last fiscal cliff legislation. He gives lip service only to decreasing the size of government and actually cutting taxes. All those votes he brags about getting in 2008 is attributable to the fact that conservatives were casting their vote against his opponent rather than voting for this narcissistic political hack. These ares just a few examples how Saxby has serviced the people of GA.

As a resident of Loganville that bill to prevent human-animal hybrids is extremely important to us. We are so fortunate to have a Republican like Tom as our representative.

Kent 4 months, 1 week ago on Georgia Power seeks to shut down some units

The Marxist in chief has promised to shut down the coal industry and thanks to his control of the the EPA our power bills will increase dramatically with this back door tax. He is flat out lying when he claims the he does not want to increase taxes on the middle class.

I would recommend SAF instead. The NRA totally ticked me off when they took forever to take the position to not support Harry Reid the last election. Before that they gave the max. contribution to him. They also supported John Murtha, and a recent Democrat they supported now wants strict gun controls since he has been elected.
