No teachers don't make 1500 a week. They aren't paid for holidays or summers or breaks. They have a contracted number of days and they are paid for them. So while it does average out (for the entire GCPS staff) to approximately 300 for a daily rate... teachers are only paid for approximately 200 days out of the year. Some teacher will only have about a 100-150 increase as they are relatively new, while other teachers with 25 years or more in the system will make more.

Teacher in Gwinnett County pay taxes as well. So technically they help "pay" their own salaries.
