JV 8 months, 1 week ago on ROBINSON: The new al-Qaida menace

Eugene Robinson squarely put himself in the camp of those in this country who hate the U.S and blame it for all the world's problems. In this case, he faults the U.S. for defending itself. Let's instead do nothing until we have another 9/11 attack!

The fundamental fallacy in Robinson’s thesis is he forgets the embassy bombings in Africa and the U.S. Cole attack in the 90s, and most especially the 9/11 attack occurred BEFORE any of the U.S. "provocations" he alludes to having yet occurred. Yes Eugene, they (the Islamist terrorists) started it. So, let's first blame the victim (US). Then let's beat the old Bush bad, Obama good drum. The same usual tired routine.

"Garret Keizer suggests that noise is not considered a big problem by the ruling class because it tends to take its harshest toll on those with low social standing or political power, such as the very young, the infirm, the elderly, the poor and racial minorities."

What was otherwise a good article turned into the usual left wingnut nonsense.

JV 8 months, 3 weeks ago on JENKINS: Look beyond the hysteria to real root cause of violence

Rob Jenkins is spot on. To add to his comments, I found this information not shown in MSM outlets.

A CDC report; Homicide Rates Among Persons Aged 10–24 Years — United States, 1981–2010 released July 12, 2013, shows the homicide rate for older children and young adults has hit its lowest point in at least three decades. The report released echoes earlier findings about a national decline in killings and other crimes. The study finds that both firearm and nonfirearm homicide rates have been declining for the age group.

The study showed youth homicide rates fell across the board – in males, females, whites, blacks and hispanics. However, males and blacks continued to be killed at far higher rates than females or people in other racial and ethnic groups. The 2010 rate for blacks was nearly four times higher than the average for all youths that age.

We haven’t seen those 5 million “green” jobs promised back in 2008 either.

JV 9 months ago on KRAUTHAMMER: The Zimmerman case: A touch of sanity

This piece by Charles was published by the Washington Post July 18th. Before the July 19th unannounced press conference by the president. A press conference which included comments that were inappropriate and risk further inflaming what has become a racially charged issue. I don’t understand why the GDP waited to publish Charles until July 21st. His views may be a bit different now.
