Or how many former carpoolers are now pushed back into the 'regular' lanes either as 2 people in one car are actually increased traffic by being two, single rider cars.

Another kicker to this is SRTA/GaDOT have at times admitted that the revenue won't even pay for the maintenance/upkeep of the toll lanes.

It is not an extra lane. It was stolen by SRTA and GaDOT. The Fed. government funded the creation/addition of the HOV lane around the 96 Olympics...then the SRTA and GaDOT thieves stole it under the guise of 'giving Gwinnett commuters another option'. Their other excuses have changed as the useage results have come in. Now they say that relieving traffic congestion was never a goal of the hotlanes.

I too would love for one of the news agencies to do a FOA request on this debacle.

I hope the voters of Georgia remember that the people who are responsible for the trainwreck and constant lies will also be partly responsible for spending the T-SPLOST money should the voters be stupid enough to approve the T-SPLOST. This includes the over-educated braintrust of Malika Reed Wilkins, PhD, Gena L. Evans, PhD, and our current governor.

I see at least 6 cars a day cross the double lines on my commute from the Pleasant Hill exit to Midtown so I doubt they are being fined. They have never released any numbers concerning fines. Additionally, all you have to do is turn off your toll tag especially if it is dark outside. If they can't tell you who should be there, or what type of non-paying arrangement it is, how can they tell if you have 2, 3 or 8 car riders, especially through tinted windows.

The only thing this group analyzes is how to make the statistics represent what they want them to say, no matter how assinine their statements generally are.

They really are making this stuff up as they go along aren't they.

A WSB reporter said that SRTA called them to ask where was the best placement for the new entrance point. You mean SRTA staff, headed by Gena Evans, Ph.D., and all of their millions of dollars worth of studies, couldn't figure out the best spot? Fantastic.

Oh, and your new Peach Pass app gets worse with every update. The lasted improvement is you can no longer see the transactions screen. Add that to the fact that there is no 'QUIT' button and the 4 hour non-toll setting doesn't reset after the 4 hour window.

Hangdog 2 years, 7 months ago on Toll lane violators could get tickets in the mail

And the new Peach Pass app is just going to cause more issues because when you set it to the 4 hour 'non-toll' setting, it never resets...so, if you have a 3 person car pool in the morning but don't in the afternoon, you have to still change the toll status, even though you set it to rest in 4 hours. Knowing SRTA, I imagine they did this on purpose anyway.

One funny thing I heard on WSB last week was that when they put in the new entrance points at Boggs Rd, SRTA called WSB to find out the best place to put the new entrance point. You mean that SRTA staff, headed by Gena Evans, Ph. D., and all of their consultants, couldn't figure out the best place for the new entrance point? Wow. Nice job folks.

Deal barely got the nomination last time. No way I'm voting for him in the primary or the general election, strictly on his failure on this issue to get SRTA and Gena Evans, Ph. D., in line and quit screwing Gwinnett County commuters/taxpayers.

Hangdog 2 years, 7 months ago on Free app allows I-85 drivers to change toll status

I can explain it. First, they told you that you have to change it 20 minutes ahead of time, but now they say the app changes the toll immediately. So, if you pick up 2 hitchhikers on the way to work, you can change your toll status to NONTOLL. However, if you pick the 4 hour window of NONTOLL, it never resets after the 4 hours, leaving you in nontoll status. So, let's say you are late for work and hope in the lane. You get stopped and they look at their super-duper machines and see that you are nontoll with only one person in the car...BAM, they fine you because their stupid, nonworking app doesn't reset the toll status after that 4 hours when you were actually a valid 3 person car pool.

Surprising???? Nope, not knowing SRTA's horrible, fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants history.

Sorry..hit the enter key to quickly...ugh.

As typical of a Gena Evans run organization, SRTA continues to fail miserably. Problems with the app so far: 1) no way to quit it, even though the latest update said a Quit button was added 2) if you change your toll to free, using the 4 hour window, it NEVER changes back, 3) it is very clunky to work through 4) history of your usage is not expandable 5) the interface looks and works like it was designed by a jr. high school dropout in his garage.

Our state government continues to outdo themselves with this issue. Stick it to Gwinnett by stealing a travel lane with huge tolls, quickly reduce tolls, then change to the mantra that it isn't for improving congestion, then once they realize that the idea is horrible, back out of their plans to shove this horrible idea down Cobb's throat, all the while, forcing Gwinnett voters, commuters and taxpayers to be stuck with this debacle. I'm remember this crap come voting time, ESPECIALLY where T-SPLOST and our current governor are involved.

In the meantime, send that crappy app back to the drawing board and quit trumpeting your failures as successes.

Send the app back to the drawing board, and take Gena Evans, Ph. D. and SRTA with you. Or, and GDOT, and the governor and ex-governor who allowed and continue to let this HOT lane fiasco continue. Sure, let Cobb off the hook....but keep our stolen lane. Say goodbye to your T-SPLOST money if Gwinnett TAXPAYERS and VOTERS have anything to say about it.
