Well, since John Lewis cried racism, it MUST be true. He has never, ever, been known to cry wolf on racism now has he? The "racist slurs" I recall being alleged were not proven. Furthermore, I do not recall tea party members rioting and causing mayhem like in Oakland.
David, you obviously don't know the difference between an accusation and proof. You can link 50 article with the claims that epithets were made. Where is the video? These days, almost everyone has a video camera and recording device in their pockets. Media are all around in events like this. Where are the recordings of these incidents? Just because someone, with political points to be earned, makes an accusation does not mean it is true. And let's suppose for a moment that one or two people did make such comments. EVERY crowd has one or two bad apples whether it politics, sports, etc. You just painted an entire movement based on the ALLEGED actions of three or four people. Contrast that with RIOTS from your Occupy movement that are sure well comprised of more than four or five people. Nevermind that these same professional protesters who are staging these Occupy protests have been showing up a global economic meetings and rioting for years. It's the same crowd every time so your comparison between the Tea Party and the Occupy cannot stand up under even the lightest scrutiny.
The socialists have come to Gwinnett! The ridiculous claims that come out of anything sponosred by MoveOn never ceases to amaze me. Our system only works for 1% of the country? So all those people who will pass by in late model cars, with jobs to pay for their suburban homes and kids' Little League expenses as well as the dinners they headed to have after the shopping to do...they are all the top 1%? Yeah, times are tough, I understand that. Lots of people are hurting and out of work. But to suggest that our system, capitalism, that has made America the most prosperous and historically successful nation on earth, works for far more than 1%.
As for money influencing Washington, are you willing to denounce the union money that flows to Washington while you are denouncing corporate lobbyists? If you will not, you are hypocrites, especially given that some of the prime backers of the Occupy protests are labor organizations. But that's liberalism for you - hypocrisy 101.
If you rae unhappy about the way things are in this country, go down and protest the government. The government does far more to get in the way of economic prosperity than do corporations. In fact, to suggest otherwise is complete and sheer insanity. Without economic prosperity, businesses cease to exists. Government, however, has far more to gain in time of economic distress than does private enterprise (example, all the demands for new government hand-holding by Occupy). So, try to think logically for one moment - between government and corporations, who has more incentive to see America retire to economic prosperity? See? Once you start to think logically, you realize how ridiculous your Occupy organizers and their Marxist slogans sound. Keep it up and soon you will be able to think for yourself and the radical left organizers will be the ones out of a job. At that point, America as a whole will be better off.
