A Republican primary battle has emerged for incumbent Commissioner Mike Beaudreau, facing Tommy Hunter, Mike Korom and Jerry Oberholtzer on July 31 ballots.
Chairman says Lasseter's seat must be filled by special election
Shirley Lasseter's resignation means a special election must be held because it occurred more than 180 days from when the term expires. It also leaves four people on the Board of Commission, which opens the possibility of 2-2 ties.
