Peachtree Ridge junior Melissa Turvy has cystic fibrosis and celiac disease. However, she excels in basketball and is so healthy that people are shocked that she has the genetic disease. Cystic fibrosis is a recessive genetic disease affecting most critically the lungs, and other parts of the body and celiac disease is is a chronic digestive disorder in which damage to the lining of the small intestine.
