Kendall Fisher, 14 and Chris Cliburn, 16 take a few belongings out from her home in Slidell, La. after flood waters from Tropical Storm Lee flooded the neighborhood, Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011. The vast, soggy storm system spent hours during the weekend hovering in the northernmost Gulf of Mexico. Its slow crawl to the north gave more time for its drenching rain bands to pelt a wide swath of vulnerable coastline, raising the flood threat. (AP Photo/The Times-Picayune, Ted Jackson)
