Survivors tell their tales of battling breast cancer

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Daily Post sat down with four Gwinnett breast cancer survivors, each with their own story of fear, pain and hope.

I became friends with Nila when she was in Breast Cancer treatment. I too was just getting diagnosed with Breast Cancer and my husband was in treatment at the same time for Liposarcoma. Nila's journey and mine were in different steps, so she pioneered the way through chemo and radiation before I went through it...I'll never forget how she encouraged me and became such a dear friend, so quickly. We both know that God took us through this fight for a reason and we still remember how it effected our lives. We want to be an encouragement to those in the battle against cancer and help them like others helped us. Cancer is a horrible disease, but with support, lots of prayers and a great attitude, you can make it through, one-day-at-a-time.
