Barbara Pelham Espy, age 55 of Lawrenceville, GA passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011. Mrs. Espy is survived by husband Edward I. (Ned) Espy, Jr. of Lawrenceville, GA, daughter Halley Elizabeth Espy of Lawrenceville, GA, son Edward I. (Trey) Espy, III of Lawrenceville, GA, parents Bob and Brenda Pelham of Auburn, AL, brother Steve Pelham of Montgomery, AL, sister Karen and Tommy Parten of Auburn, AL, aunt, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was born in Fort Benning, GA, grew up in Auburn, AL, and raised her family in Chattanooga, TN, Charlotte, NC, and Lawrenceville, GA. She received her B.S. and M.S. in Education from Auburn University and began her career as a Biology Teacher in LaGrange, GA. She made her mark as a Preschool Director for both Buford Presbyterian Church and Buford First United Methodist Church the past 16 years. She was a wonderful daughter, caring sister, loving wife, and incredible mother. She possessed a strong faith and touched many lives with her grace. She loved children, her church, her dog Savannah, her Auburn Tigers, and her dear breast cancer survivor friends, Bev and Julie. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Buford Presbyterian Church with Dr. Corey Ingold and Dr. Rix Threadgill officiating, with a luncheon reception celebrating Barb's life to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Buford Presbyterian Church, 1242 Buford Highway, Sugar Hill, GA 30518 in memory of Barbara Espy.
