Parsons Elementary fifth-graders learn how to code

Students in teacher Michaela Austin’s class participated in an “Hour of Code” on Wednesday, which was an international awareness effort to promote computer programming for students. It coincided with Computer Science Education Week which was organized by code.org where celebrities and elected officials learned how to code. The promotions worked at Parsons. Last year, Austin’s class was the only one in the school to participate. This year, every student was offered a chance to learn about coding.
